Conyers Rockdale Bicycle and Trail Coalition  Announces Bike Route 1

Conyers, GA — The Conyers Rockdale Bicycle and Trail Coalition (CRB&TC), the City of Conyers, and Rockdale County recently announced the community is taking further steps to encourage and welcome cyclists to ride within the city of Conyers and Rockdale County.

To learn more about this Georgia's first ever county bike route, read this press release.

October 3, 2020 -- Nine C4 members rode the Lake Oconee Velo Eatonton (LOVE) Cycle Club Charity ride to benefit two LOVE members diagnosed with breast cancer both on the same day.  The event raised over $4,000 for each person. Special guest Nelson Vails was Silver Medalist in cycling at the 1984 Olympics. Special thanks to Jim Stone for organizing the ride. The number of registered riders was 112, so C4 made up about 8% and donated $405 via registration fees.

Stepping Up

In late March, the C4 Board of Directors approved contributions to several local charities assisting community members impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and associated economic disruption.  The board authorized the following donations:
  • $1,000 to Action Ministries for providing meals to children in our communities;
  • $500 to the Newton County Boys & Girls Club; and
  • $500 to Rockdale Friends of Accountability Courts & Education (RFACE) specifically earmarked to purchase bicycles for neighbors in need of transportation.
These charities meet our advocacy mandate to serve our community at large and the broader cycling community.  We look forward to bringing you stories about the work of these great community partners when circumstances again allow us to visit their operations.
Giving Back
C4 members give back through a variety of community service events, including volunteering at
  • Tony Serrano Century Ride
  • Healthy Newton Omnium
  • Elks-Aidmore Cyclocross Race
These cycling events raise money and give back to our community.

Serving Our Community
Other community service events include participation in the City of Conyers Christmas Parade and the annual C4 Christmas Bike Build, which repairs and donates used bikes to local youth.

C4 is closely affiliated with two local bicycle advocacy organizations and one local wellness organization.  Our members contribute their time, treasure, and talents to make Newton, Rockdale, and Walton counties healthier, more accessible, and safer for bicyclists through the organizations featured below.
