Hills & Lakes
Life has it's ups and downs -- especially for riders who partake in C4's weekly "Hills 'n Lakes" ride! This route takes advantage of relatively quiet rural roads in northern Rockdale County. It's a scenic trip, thanks to the lakes, but the standout feature is the hills. You'll "enjoy" ~2,000 feet of climbing in the short span of 26 miles or so -- and some white-knuckle-fast descents. There are ~10 significant hills. You'll find multiple versions of this route in our club library, but our weekly ride starts from the MTB Trailhead at the Georgia International Horse Park. Click here for directions.
For 2020, we plan to ride this route every Tuesday from March 10 through September 29, with a 6:30 pm start (unless otherwise posted). Watch our riders group on Facebook and the C4 calendar for current information. Riders climb at different paces, so this ride splits up considerably on the hills. But we regroup often. This is obviously an important ride to improve climbing ability, strength, anaerobic endurance, and bone density. |
